Summary

Arthur returns from his bike ride feeling rejuvenated in “Spider.” He quite literally bumps into Samuel Daily, who invites him over for dinner at his place. Daily tells him the landlord can inform him how to get there. Back at the inn, Arthur tells the landlord he will be staying up at Eel Marsh House for a couple nights. The landlord does not comment on this, but is clearly skeptical of Arthur’s plan. Arthur enjoys his dinner at the lavish Daily estate. Afterwards, Daily brings up Eel Marsh and tells Arthur he would be better off abandoning his mission. Arthur tells Daily about the ghosts he saw. Daily is familiar with these sightings. Daily resigns himself to at least ensuring Arthur’s comfort during his stay at Eel Marsh. He offers up his dog, Spider, to keep Arthur company...
