Thursday Ellington

Thursday Ellington is the central character and narrator of this novel. When the novel opens, Thursday leads the reader to believe that she is Seth’s legal wife, that she has agreed to a polygamous relationship. She believes that Seth divorced his first wife, Regina, because she did not want children. She has also been led to believe that Seth took Hannah as another wife to bear his children when Thursday’s uterus ruptured, causing her to lose the baby she was carrying. Thursday believes that she is Seth’s legal wife. In reality, however, Thursday is Seth’s mistress. Hannah is Seth’s legal wife, and Regina is Seth’s ex-wife. She left Seth because he was cheating on her with Thursday.
