Chapter 4-6 Summary

In chapter four Annie is on a bus when German soldiers begin performing a search. Annie thinks quickly and is able to say that the girl clothes in her suit case are for her aunt. The soldiers don't arrest anyone off of the bus but do take a man's chicken, which angers the man. Once in the town of Usselo Annie is met by a girl named Dini Hannink. Dini carefully takes Annie home where Annie is put into a small room with her sister Sini. The Hannink family is well off but there is nothing much in this small room and only one little window and a bathroom to share.
