Chapters 37 - 40 Summary

In Chapter 37, Mara believes her actions in Mrs. Morales' class were brilliant until Jamie explains to her the folly of her actions. It turns out, however, that Jamie has recorded her answers in the class, as well as Mrs. Morales' responses.

Later, at home, Mara answers the phone and a voice informs her that she needs to tell her husband to drop the case or they'd be sorry. When she looks at the call history on the phone, she sees no record of a recent call and wonders if the call even took place.
