Chapters 29 - 32 Summary

When they arrive at the restaurant in Chapter 29, Mara notices that Noah's face goes white and he tightens his grip on her hand. He goes outside and Mara catches a glimpse of Jude in the restaurant. She closes her eyes, hoping Jude with go away and is startled by a man talking to her. Noah returns and makes the man leave. Noah insists on paying for Mara's meal.

In Chapter 30, Noah takes Mara to the Miami Beach Convention Center for a preview of an art show. As Mara wanders through the art, she becomes separated from Noah. She believes the trees are people with their arms reaching out to grab her. She hallucinates seeing her friends in the painted pictures as well as a collapsed building that suddenly begins to put itself back together. Mara passes out.
