The Magical Chess Set

There is a magical chess set that symbolizes the powers at play that Owen does not yet understand. The chess set is in mid-game, but no one can move the pieces. When Owen leaves the set unattended for awhile, he discovers that a piece has been moved, but he cannot be certain whether someone moved it or the magical piece moved on its own.
