Summary

In Chapter 11, Landry wanders the woods on his own, taking comfort in silence and solitude. As he wanders, he sees two men. He does not recognize them in the dark before they wander out of his sight. Landry and Prentiss continue to work on George’s peanut farm. By June, the plants have grown substantially and appear to be viable. George and Isabelle have grown used to Landry and Prentiss’ company. One day, Isabelle speaks to Landry, saying that she learned from Prentiss that Landry is actually capable of speech, he just chooses to remain silent. Later that day, Landry goes to a place in the woods where he has hidden yarn and kitting needles. He learned to knit from his mother years ago, and he chooses to practice knitting in silence. He is currently working on making a pair of socks for Isabelle...
