Chapters 37-40 Summary

Chapter 37

They stopped at a hold called Imre Stand, which has been ransacked. Rand and Mat think it the work of trollocs, but the Aiel tell them that trollocs never raid this far south into the Waste. They camp the night and Jasin Natael, who overhears Mat muttering in the Old Tongue, asks Mat probing questions about his past, a past which Mat is remembering in increasing detail, both this life, and the many before it.

That night their camp is attacked by trollocs and Myrddraal. The small force of Shadowspawn is easily repelled by the Aiel.
