Summary

Chapter 19 is titled “Dill.” Dill is putting groceries in a woman's car when a little girl falls off the electric pony ride outside the store. Dill consoles her, but her mother arrives and is furious, saying she knows Dill's father and that he is not to touch her daughter. The store manager, Mr. McGowan, is not angry at Dill, but he makes it clear that he understands the woman's attitude. Dill goes to the library and he uses the internet, though Lydia encourages him to join her and Travis. Dill is upset when he reads Lydia's latest blog post in which she says she does not have any friends. She says there is “no one worth mentioning” (155). Dill confronts Lydia. Travis says he does not care whether she mentions him and Lydia responds that she does not need to justify what she says...
