Summary

In Chapter 15, Lucy is angry that Lockwood's article forced her to face Blake. George and Lockwood say Blake could not have seen her through the glass, but Lucy does not believe them. Lockwood argues that George has weird eyes, but that is not a negative reflection on George. Lockwood points out that everyone in London is inside their home. Only Lockwood, George, and Lucy are outside, walking the streets without fear. He says they have a level of freedom that no one else has. When they arrive at home, Lockwood is the first to see the flash of light from downstairs. They find the door is open and enter silently. They confront the human intruder in the basement. George and Lucy wind up fighting apparitions when the intruder breaks a couple of containers. The intruder is wearing a mask, and he gets away...
