Summary

Chapter 35

When Sean returns to Malvern Yard in Chapter 35, he finds Malvern and expresses his desire to buy Corr, but Malvern reiterates his stance that Corr is not for sale. Sean suggests Malvern has forgotten what it is like to ride for someone else, so Malvern tells him to choose another horse. Thinking of Puck's refusal to back down and Holly's belief that Malvern must want something more than Corr, Sean realizes he has never risked the one thing he is afraid to lose; he quits his job, offering to race one more year and to continue training Malvern's horses if he is permitted to buy Corr.
