Summary

In Chapter 15, “Searching,” they decide to seize the freedom that walking gives them and continue onwards into the wilderness. They stop to watch a play in an amphitheater along the cliff. They sneak into a campsite to sleep and use the showers, and sneak back out the next morning without paying. They withdraw some money, reach the village of Penzance, the next marking on the map, and purchase new insulin mats and food for the week. Ray reflects on how wrong the doctor was to prescribe rest and solitude, and how transformative this arduous walk has been. They take their walk more slowly, appreciating the beauty outdoors, and reluctantly reach the next landmark: Kynance Cove.
