Summary

Chapter 13 picks up after the performance. The band had started off clunky, but the girls quickly found their rhythm. They played only a few songs before vacating the stage for the headliner. Heather, Maureen, Brenda, Junie, and Claude set out to walk around the fair with Anton, Ricky, and Ed who makes a point of noticing Junie. They encounter Father Adolph Theisen, the Saint Patrick's priest. He compliments the music, then asks if they are going to participate in the church choir. Brenda had been a member of the choir until she and Maureen attended one of Father Adolph's summer retreats. Heather has heard that the retreats are great, but Brenda and Maureen did not talk to her about it. Father Adolph talks a little more before leaving.
