Chapters 11-15 Summary

In Chapter 11, when Nicolaa wakes up, she realizes that she is sleeping with her husband. He appeared happy and fit, but she feels miserable. By noon, she begins to feel better. Royce asks her what happened the night before, but she doesn't remember. Her servant points out that she was stark naked that morning so something must have happened.

She talks with Royce later and asks him what happened. He tells her that he isn't pleased that telling the truth is so difficult for her, but he likes how she responds to him. He tells her that he's going to get Justin and Ulric the next day. She goes off to prepare for their arrival.

At dinner, when she tells her husband her plans for sleeping arrangements, he tells her that Justin is going to sleep with the other soldiers. Hugh...
