Part 4 and Epilogue Summary

Charlie returned to school after Spring break. He walked the halls staring at kids and teachers wondering what they were all doing there. Since he wasn't having anything to do with his friends, Charlie began going to the mall everyday after school to people watch. He saw a little lost boy be reunited with his mother. He saw old men and little kids and tried to imagine what their stories were.

One day he was stoned and saw Susan surrounded by a bunch of boys making sex jokes, which she tried her best to laugh at. He walked up to her and asked her if she missed Michael. They all stared at him. He apologized to her. He heard the boys ridiculing him as he walked off.
