Chapters 28 through 33 Summary

In chapter twenty-eight, Wili was careful to create the bobble around the hostages during the heat of the day. The plan had been to wait in the tenement building until late afternoon and Wili watches with the others as the approaching darkness cools the air around the bobble so that it becomes the equivalent of a hot air balloon and begins to float away, taking the hostages and upper floor of the building with it. It is driven inland by the sea winds, exactly as Wili had predicted.
