Summary

In Chapter 7, in 1976 in the Back Woods, Wallace has a new boyfriend named Leo. Elle is 10 years old. Wallace and Leo have gone to the bus station to pick up Leo’s children, Conrad and Rosemary. Wallace admits the children are not likable, but she asks her daughters to be on their best behavior.
