Point of View

This novel is told from the third person point of view of an omniscient narrator. The narrator knows the thoughts and emotions of all of the characters but he has no prior knowledge of what is happening in the novel and learns the plot points of the story only as the characters learn them. The book does not feature any particular character through whom the narrator tells the story but instead uses a variety of characters’ perspectives to tell the story. In this way, Penny is able to tell the entire story regardless which characters are present.
