Clara Morrow

Clara Morrow is one of the main characters of the novel. She is the wife of Peter Morrow and the one who tells Gamache that Peter did not come to see her a year from the date they had separated, like he said that he would. Clara felt bad telling Gamache that Peter was missing because she knew that he had come to Three Pines after having retired from the police department in order to heal from physical wounds suffered in the line of duty and to find peace. Clara knew when she shared her problem with Gamache and saw the fear in his eyes that she had destroyed his peace.
