Section 11: Chapter 21 and 22 Summary

In Chapter 21: Michigan, July 1999, Mr. Marsh introduces Mike to "another business associate" (page 206) who claims he has heard good things about Mike. He further explains that Mr. Marsh and Mr. Slade have obligations they are not fulfilling, but while Mr. Slade seems to have disappeared, Mr. Marsh is facing his responsibilities so the man is willing to work with him; however, he has nothing of value except Mike, so the man wants Mike to give it another try with Mr. G. When he insinuates that Mike would be helping Amelia, he registers Mike's reaction and is happy they are all on the same page now. Mike does not find Amelia in her room, and Sleepy Eyes tells him that daddy sent her away. Mike returns to West Side Recovery where Mr. G is sarcastic about giving him another chance...
