Chapters 9 and 10 Summary

Percy emerges from the underworld and contacts Annabeth. All of the remaining campers meet them at the Empire State Building, and they head up to seek audience with Zeus. Hestia shows Luke a vision, and then before she can answer any of his other questions, Hermes arrives. Hermes tells Luke that Athena has already informed them that Typhon is merely a distraction and that a trap will be sprung on Olympus. He was sent back to meet the demigods. Hermes is angry with Annabeth for not saving Luke when she had the chance, but Percy deflects his anger a little when he blames Hermes for abandoning Luke and his mother. Hermes is tempted to strike Percy down, but cannot because he bears the curse of Achilles. He tells Percy that he is in the hands of the Fates now, and then...
