Summary

In Chapter 37, Nash told Avery about the challenges Tobias set up for him and his brothers each week. He explained that sometimes his grandfather would give them a collection of unrelated objects, like a fish hook, a glass ballerina, a knife, and a price tag. By the end of the game, they would have used all four of the objects. Nash warned Avery that she might think she was playing the game, but there was a possibility she was only a glass ballerina or a knife.

In Chapter 38, Jameson was so upset that he and his brothers’ names were significant that he had gotten drunk. He admitted to Avery that his mother would never answer any questions about their middle names. She also would not tell them the names of their fathers.
