Chapters 1-8 Summary

Isla Desolacion, January 16, 1:15p.m. Nester Masangkay is on Isla Desolacion searching for evidence of a meteorite he has heard about through local legends. When Masangkay finds rocks that indicate the presence of a meteorite, he takes a reading with his electromagnetic tomographic sounder. Masangkay cannot believe what the device shows and takes a second reading. When the second is similar to the first, Masangkay begins to dig. Masangkay unearths something that brings him a great deal of excitement. However, when he touches the object with rain pouring down around him, an electrical charge throws him yards away.
