Summary

In Chapter 17, all the children show up at the guest house. It is Linus’ last day at Marsyas. They tell him to get his explorer clothes on. They are going for one last adventure. Linus is excited but also sad. The children end up leading him back to the house for his surprise goodbye party. The whole garden is decorated and there is a hand-painted sign saying goodbye to Linus. Everyone has a wonderful time and spends the evening eating and dancing. Arthur and Linus slow dance. Linus helps put the kids to bed. Linus overhears Zoe and Arthur arguing in the kitchen. Zoe leaves the two men alone. Arthur tells Linus he should stay with them for good. Linus tells him he cannot because he has to go back to work, even though his heart is secretly breaking. The next morning...
