Summary

In Chapter 3, when Malcolm woke up, the house was encased in snow. Inside, it was “brutally cold and when he went to the window, he saw two huge tree limbs on the ground below” (53). The night before, he had driven by Mrs. Ryan’s house, expecting Jess’s car to be in the driveway.
