Sergeant Mandella, 2007-2024 A.D., Chapter 9 Summary

When Mandella returns to his mother's apartment, there is a blinking light on the phone. After fumbling around with communications technology that he does not understand, he is able to ascertain that Marygay has called from her parents' co-op in South Dakota. Mandella calls her back and she tells him that she had to stop working in the field to come to the phone. As soon as they see each other over the screen, they decide to take a trip around the world together, starting with London. Mandella reminds her to bring a gun. When they meet the next morning at the Ellis Island jetport, they immediately get a room and spend several hours making love.
