Summary

In Chapter 31, Brooke and Dru-Ann have a heart-to-heart on the beach. Dru-Ann reminds Brooke of her self-worth. Caroline interviews Dru-Ann in Chapter 32. Dru-Ann senses Caroline’s crush on Isaac when Caroline mentions him. Dru-Ann tells Caroline about bonding with Hollis while rushing for their sorority. One of the sorority sisters implied they were only choosing Dru-Ann because she is Black.

Dru-Ann and Hollis’ only confrontation occurred during Christmas of sophomore year when Dru-Ann discovered that Hollis lied when she implied that she had a living mother. Hollis explained that she was ashamed of being motherless. Dru-Ann empathized with her. Caroline considers Hollis in a new light. Isaac calls.
