Chapters 8-11 Summary

Chapter 8

Nynaeve, Elayne, Juilin, and Thom ride out of Tarabon, posing as dye merchants. On the border of Amadicia, they are stopped by a patrol of Whitecloaks, but Nynaeve convinces them that she is a simple merchant on her way to Andor. The Whitecloaks let them pass, and they camp that night on the edge of a town named Mardecin.

Chapter 9

Nynaeve and Elayne stroll through Mardecin. Nynaeve recognizes an arrangement of flowers on an apothecary door as a signal that the shop owner has a message sent out by the Yellow Ajah in the White Tower. Nynaeve and Elayne enter the shop, which is run by a woman named Ronde Macura. Mistress Macura brews them tea, which they drink, and she tells them the message: "All sisters are welcome to return to the White Tower, the Tower must be whole...
