Avery Kylie Grambs

Avery Kylie Grambs is the first-person narrator and main character in this novel. Even though Avery is not related to the Hawthornes, she has been chosen as the sole beneficiary to Tobias Hawthorne’s estate, which is worth billions of dollars. Through the course of the novel, Avery has to referee Eve’s arrival at the mansion and her own unease with Eve. Avery determines Eve was sent by Blake to send information back to him about what happened to his son, Will Blake.

Avery also learns that Tobias did not choose her as his beneficiary because he held her in any sort of esteem. It was because he knew Blake would come after his beneficiary once Tobias was dead.
