Chapter 6 Summary

In the morning, Mom is angry as she wakes up Jared. She has him go downstairs and see that the kitchen is a total mess and suspects him as the perpetrator. The porcelain bowl that Jared had set out with milk has been broken, and other foodstuffs are splashed across the walls. Simon has bruises on his arms and is crying. Amid the mess, Jared sees the tracks of the boggart's feet in the flour he laid out on the floor last night. He points to the little footprints, but Mallory insists that they are Jared's, and shortly after, Mom sweeps the flour marks away. The most upsetting thing is when Mallory points out what is in the freezer. Simon's tadpoles are frozen to death in ice cubes, with a note saying it is not nice to ice the mice. Simon's pet mice...
