Summary

In Part Two, Chapter 8, Danny recalls taking the train from New York to Philadelphia for Thanksgiving. He wished Maeve had visited him in the city instead, but ever since finishing college, she was reluctant to return. He decided to use the train ride to catch up on chemistry work, as he was falling behind in school. Noticing his poor grades, his professor, Dr. Able, began working more closely with him. After he discovered Danny's lack of parents, he paid even closer care to Danny's academic and personal wellbeing.
