Point of View

The Demon King, by Cinda Williams Chima, is a fictional story involving Queens, Kings, Princes and Wizards who live in a region called the Seven Realms. The story is told in the first person perspective from the two main characters - Raisa, the Princess heir to the throne, and Han, the former Ragger King. Though both rulers of a sort, these characters come from opposite ends of the financial spectrum. Raisa is a Queen in waiting, with servants at her command, guards who are sworn to keep her safe even at the expense of their own lives, and a duty to her Queendom that extends to encompass whom she marries and what direction her life takes. Han, on the other hand, is the leader of the Raggers only until it becomes too dangerous for his family. He gives up the position, backing out of the Raggers...
