Han spends as much time with Bird as they can manage to sneak away for, and Han is consumed with finding a way not to lose both of his friends. He talks to Willo, but she makes it clear that what he wants and his path and those of his friends are two different things. He tries to find someone who can remove his cuffs and when that fails, he considers selling the amulet. He sneaks back into Ragmarket to retrieve it.
