Summary

Chapter 11 and Part 2 begin as Mac sits at a bar at the Miami airport. A few weeks beforehand, Carlos had brought a new first mate down for The Maine, Felipe. He was also adding “three amigos” on board to fish for the tournament, to avoid suspicion (71). Carlos promised Mac that Eduardo would not join the trip. The Maine with the crew would be in Havana one night for a goodwill visit, and Mac and Jack make plans to rendezvous there, against Carlos’s wishes. Carlos tells Mac he will have a plan to get him, Sara, and the money on board the boat in Cayo Guillermo. Carlos also buys The Maine from Mac, to avoid suspicion, and renames her Fishy Business. Carlos tells him “Vayan con Dios” (74).
