Rachel Klein O'Neill

Rachel is Kylie's mother and Marty's ex-wife. She is a strong, determined young woman, though she sees herself as weak and ineffective. Rachel was married to Marty and helped put him through law school before their divorce. She was diagnosed with breast cancer and had finished a round of treatment. As this novel opens, Rachel was on her way to the doctor's office and felt certain the cancer had returned. She is correct and she takes down Ginger and Olly while under the effects of chemotherapy. The fact that she ignores how sick and weak she is to find the people responsible for The Chain is a sign of her strength, though she does not see it.
