Summary

In Chapter 16, Pete O'Neill is hunting. He is a former Marine and is Marty's brother. He is devoted to Kylie. He is battling an addiction to heroine, the result of becoming dependent on pain killers. Once he was no longer able to get the pain killers legally, he discovered that heroine took their place and was easier to obtain. He is surprised when his cell phone vibrates, having not expected to have a signal. The signal is too weak to answer. Rachel texts, asking where he is. Pete looks for higher ground, hoping for a better signal, but his battery dies. He is also in need of his next drug fix.
