Chapter 13 Summary

Qwill talks to Melinda before being released from the hospital, and she says strange things are going on in Moose County. Rather than tell the police about the truck, Qwill decides remain vigilant. When Arch picks him up from the hospital, Qwill tells his friend that he believes his accident was an attempt on his life. He believes it was the family from New Jersey who would inherit the Klingenschoen fortune if he dies before living in Moose County for five years. Arch advises him to relinquish the fortune, but Qwill does not want the money to leave Moose County.
