Part Eight, The Word Shaker Summary

Rudy comes home one night and finds that two men have come to speak to his parents about him. Rudy is not allowed to attend this meeting and chooses not to eavesdrop on the conversation. Later Rudy learns that the men wanted him to attend a special school for Nazi youths. Rudy's parents have heard stories about these schools and do not want to allow Rudy to go. When Rudy relates this story to Liesel later he tells her how the people from the school heard about Rudy winning so many races so they sent a doctor to check him out for physical fitness.
