Part Six, The Dream Carrier Summary

On Christmas Eve, Liesel brings snow into the basement so that she and Max can build a snowman. Max is excited by this and thrilled that Liesel has given him such a gift. However, shortly after this Max begins to get sick. Rosa believes it is caused by the cold of the basement and the snow. One day in January Max collapses. Rosa and Hans put him in Liesel's bed where he sleeps for a long time. Liesel sits with Max, praying he will wake up. Liesel reads to him for hours at a time.
