Summary

In Part 1, Chapter III, Vincent Owens (Sally and Gillian’s the grandfather) is living in France, having faked his own death after achieving fame from a music career. Vincent’s love named William has passed away after they spent many years together. Vincent dreams of Jet’s death. Vincent goes to a shop and purchases a black mirror. Vincent’s friend Agnes questions whether Vincent is ready to look in the mirror because if you "look in one you could never forget what you’d seen” (77). The mirror reveals that Vincent will be reunited with “his dear sister Franny” (77) soon.
