Dance and Earth Mother Summary

Ben thinks that Dirk is more peculiar than most cats. When they reach a clearing in the down pouring rain, Dirk says that he smells that Willow was there two nights ago, but he doesn't know where she is now. Dirk says it is as if her leaving has been deliberately hidden so that he cannot smell it.

The water sprite, the River Master, appears. They tell him Willow's mother danced for her in the clearing two nights ago, but they don't know where she's gone now. He also says her trail seems to be deliberately hidden from them. The River Master says he cannot summon Willow's mother to him but that he can summon her kindred.
