Crocodile Skin

The crocodile skin on Amanda's back is symbolic of the past. Although the scaly skin is attached to Amanda's body, she cannot see it or tend to it on her own. The skin is thus representative of Amanda's past, in that she can and will not regard it face on. It is an integral part of her identity, yet she fears confronting it.

Crocodile Tooth Necklace

Amanda's crocodile tooth necklace is symbolic of luck. Vinandratsy's sister Miandra gives it to Amanda, assuring her it will bring her good fortune. Amanda wears the necklace constantly as a way to channel some supernatural grace in her life.
