Chapters 41-45 Summary

In chapter 41, Bobby grabs Clint when he arrives at the office and the two head back to Palomar Labs for the test results. The two men find out that the black substance in the jar is black sand, and the blood on Frank's shirt is cat blood. Lisa, the receptionist tells Bobby and Clint about beaches in Hawaii that have black sand, and suggests that Clint take Bobby there since they are "special friends."

In chapter 42 Julie meets with Lee Chen, the computer specialist at Dakota and Dakota. Chen is unfazed by the tale that Julie relates about Frank. Chen tells Julie he can try to trace the money but it will take hours and most likely not amount to anything.

Chapter 43 finds Bobby and Clint with a jeweler. The man tells Bobby that the red stones are red diamonds, one...
