Summary

Part Three: "Crescent Moon" opens with an interlude as the man becomes a vampire. The awful process takes months and when its over, the king says the man's life belongs to the King.

In Chapter 18: "Raihn," he is thrilled to escape the palace to Lahor. As they travel, he remembers the days after Neculai turned him and the beauty of the desert. However, Lahor is barely more than ruins and the doors to the city remain closed. When Oraya says it feels strange, the door opens and a young boy says Evelaena welcomes them.
