Summary

The doctor checked on the nurse, concluding that she would be fine. Luella then returned upstairs to check on the baby. When she checked his temperature, she realized that he had died. There was a funeral, but Luella refused to accept the tragedy; she was worried about what would “become of” (132) her, so she was in denial.
