Chapters 4 - 6 Summary

Chapter 4 - Monica keeps her appointment with Dresden. The reason she gives Harry for coming to him rather than going to the police is that her husband has been interested in magic recently. He has also been upset because he recently lost his job. As a result, her husband packed a bag and left without telling Monica where he was going. The police would merely assume he wishes to remain missing to his wife. Harry has to pressure Monica to reveal her husband's real name and Dresden really does need the money from this case for his rent. Monica relents and provides her husband's name, Victor Sells. Harry gets information about Victor, where he worked, family or friends, ideas on where he might have gone and then requests a retainer. Monica gives him an envelope with five hundred dollars in cash...
