Chapter Seven Summary

In Chapter 7, Marina is in awe at the jungle at night as they arrive at the Lakashi tribe, where the entire tribe meets the boat with torches. The tribe mob the boat, greeting the crew with slaps on the body. Swenson goes to bed, after nearly fainting on the trail, leaving Marina alone in the darkness. Easter soon comes to her rescue, and takes her to a storage room with a cot on a porch area. Easter, in a hammock nearby, falls asleep quickly, and Marina investigates the room. She finds Easter's small storage box, filled with feathers, and a note from Anders asking whomever reads the letter to take Easter back to his wife. Also in the box are Anders' passport and driver's license. As she goes to bed, she thinks of Anders, but is awoken by Easter's screams as...
