Summary

In Chapter 22, Billie becomes increasingly busy with the Heartbreak Bunny. She and Louise “have been polite and careful with each other since the night she told me I raised her wrong” (267). Louise has apologized. One day in May, Billie arrives home to discover Victor in her kitchen. Victor and Louise agree they are sad to see Billie in her bunny costume. Louise reveals she begged Victor to visit. Victor is about to help Louise move another load of stuff from her house. He says he has been craving a special pizza “ever since I accidentally moved to France” (268). Victor recalls that Billie craved white clam pizza when she was pregnant with Louise.
