Numb/Better Off Summary

Numb. At the hospital Lia is given some clothing and her wounds are tended to, even though this is unnecessary as her self-healing skin is already repairing itself. A doctor tells Lia that Auden's injuries are very severe and that he was technically dead for almost two hours, but they managed to revive him and that there is a good chance that he will get most brain function back. His low body temperature slowed his system down which made the doctors' job easier. Auden's father arrives and Lia tries to tell him what happened, but he screams at her to get out and stay away from his son. Lia moves to the other end of the waiting room but does not leave. After a short time Auden's father is allowed to see Auden and stays with him for hours...
