Section 11: Chapters 38-42 Summary

In Chapter 38, Inda rushes into the hallway with Chiquita, and Brown repeats the message about Valerie and Walter. Brown worries whether Valerie would hurt herself, and Inda tells him they need to hurry and leave. Inda gives her card to Chiquita. It is hard to say good-bye, but Valerie is in serious trouble. When they leave, Inda stops at a red light, and Chiquita pulls up next to her and says she is following her because she wants to make sure Inda is okay. In Chapter 39, as Inda, Brown and Chiquita arrive at Valerie's house, Moms and Pops pull in also. They discuss what is going on, but no one knows much. Moms is very worried. Walter has not been seen since yesterday, and when Chiquita asks if anyone has his folks' number, Inda remembers that she has it...
